Gitz and Glory

So there is prepainted terrain for 40k now.

Just saw the announcement for actual official pre-painted terrain for 40k on Goonhammer. This is really fucking weird. I wonder what this will do to the more "purist-minded" people in the 40k space. 40k players love standardization from what I've heard -- which is something you need for competitive gaming, sure. But I hope, this wont lead to people thinking, that this is the only real terrain set, that you are "legally" allowed to play on. The L-shaped ruins already were a necessary evil, but at least they are easier to build or even manufacture. And hopefully it wont extinguish cool and varied terrain in general from the game. Granted ruins are the only functional terrain in 10th edition. So let's hope the terrain rules will be better this time around.

40k really isn't my main game, but I still hope that the 40k fans get a great new edition. I love the new rule formatting -- which we got in AoS first. It's just a better way to write rules and abilities in a standardized way, rather than a big tome where you aren't sure if you are reading rules or flavor text (looking at you Mordheim <3).
